Job description
It is the responsibility of this position to perform all pipe, vessel and structural assembly tasks required to complete a process equipment unit for client delivery. The purpose of the position is to mechanically assemble, pressure test and ensure the final assembled equipment is in accordance with the engineering documentation and within the time allocated in the production schedule, and according to Quality Requirements. It is the goal of the position to help establish the Manufacturing Department as the most highly respected process equipment group in the industries, and for the clients, we serve.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position includes two distinct Grade Levels. The responsibilities of each grade include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Fit-up/assemble all piping spools
- Perform hydro testing
- Proficiently run and bend pneumatic control tubing
- Perform pneumatic testing
- Assemble vessel internals
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wire diagrams, P&IDs, and general assembly drawings with high degree of accuracy
- Successfully perform point to point wiring of power and control wiring
- Install/trial-fit external accessories
- Prepare equipment for shipping
- Cut and prep pipe/structural components
- Load/unload equipment for transport
- Knowledgeable of valves, instruments, fittings
- Ability to lead others and plan ahead
- Knowledgeable of quality requirements
- Ability to make correct decisions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This position demands excellent pipe and structural assembly proficiency in pressure piping and process vessel manufacturing. The position requires good mechanical and piping aptitude, and class-appropriate level of experience. A high school or vocational school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Higher vocational welding background is preferable. Experience with ASME/ANSI Piping Codes is helpful. Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is suggested. A working knowledge of shop processes, materials, shop equipment and assembly tools are highly encouraged.
Hours: 6am - 4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
