Pay Range

$18–$25/hr (based on experience)

Position Summary

The Entry-Level Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production and facility equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe and efficient operations across mixing, pumping, filling, and packaging systems.
This position is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical aptitude who are looking to grow into a skilled industrial maintenance role.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment including mixers, pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, rotor-stator), conveyors, fillers, and packaging machinery
Perform routine maintenance on motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, seals, valves, and bearings
Support basic electrical troubleshooting (sensors, limit switches, motor starters, VFDs – as trained)
Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in restoring operations quickly and safely
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, inspections, adjustments, replacements)
Follow PM schedules and identify early signs of wear or failure
Assist with maintenance of facility systems (compressed air, dust collection, water systems, HVAC)
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and OSHA compliance
Accurately document work performed using maintenance logs or CMMS
Communicate equipment issues clearly with supervisors and production teams

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
0–2 years of maintenance, mechanical, or technical experience (manufacturing preferred but not required)
Basic understanding of mechanical systems
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Willingness to learn electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to industrial manufacturing (food, chemical, or building materials)
Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Technical training, certification, or trade school education

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
Comfortable working around moving machinery

Work Environment

Manufacturing setting with mixing, batching, and packaging operations
Exposure to powders, liquids, and industrial equipment
PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, etc.)
